- Hot food is only allowed in Library the café area on
the ground floor B block. Drinks must be in containers with secure lids. You
must not leave food in carrels or Group Study areas.
- In group Study rooms, maximum occupancy must not be exceeded
- Carrel Keys must be returned to the Welcome Desk by
the end time of your booking.
- If your carrel is in a silent study zone, you must follow
the silent zone rules, which include not making voice calls.
- You must never allow more than one person to be in a carrel
at a time.
- You must never take the carrel key out of the library. When
you’re not using the carrel, you must return the keys
to the
Welcome Desk. - You must not lend or share the carrel key with anyone.
- You must not let anyone who is not part of a carrel rental
agreement use your carrel.
- You must not leave any valuable personal possessions in
your carrel.
- You must not take any library furniture or fittings into or
out of your carrel.
- When
leaving a carrel, please ensure any windows are closed, switch off lights are
switched off and the door is locked.
- You must
leave your study carrel at least 10 minutes before the library closes and never
stay in your carrel outside of library opening hours.
- You must
keep your carrel in a condition that allows for routine cleaning: keep the
floor clear and put your litter in the library recycling or waste bins.
If renting a carrel on a monthly
basis:
- You can only keep library materials in your carrel
overnight if you have borrowed them on your library account.
- Food and perishables must not be kept in your carrel.
- Your carrel must be kept tidy all rubbish disposed of.
- You are expected to use your carrel for at least 20 hours a month. If you usage does not meet this, you may not be able to renew your carrel. This is to ensure that carrels are being used by those in most need of them.
Please note:
- If you breach these regulations, you may be barred from
future use of library facilities.
- If you breach any of these regulations while renting a
carrel, we may cancel your carrel rental; if this happens, no payments will be
refunded.
- We do not accept responsibility for the loss or damage of
personal possessions kept in carrels. It is your responsibility to look after
your possessions while in the library.
- Carrels, including rented carrels, may be unavailable
at certain times to allow for cleaning or maintenance work.
- We reserve the right to enter and inspect a carrel at any
time.
- Report any problems relating to carrels or their use to the
Welcome Desk.

As a user of this system registered or otherwise you agree that if for any reason you are unable to use smarthub for the intended purpose then you will contact your store via telephone, email or in person to resolve the problem. Siso Software Limited are not responsible or liable in any way for any errors, damages or any other loss caused by your usage of this system. For the avoidance of doubt this includes any loss howsoever suffered including negligence or fraud except where such negligence causes death or personal injury.
